Maren Morris Details Dawn Of New Era: 'Let’s Cross The Bridge Together'

Maren Morris signaled the beginning of a fresh era in her music as she teased two songs that are days away from their debut. The hit making singer-songwriter announced on Tuesday (September 12) that The Bridge is set to release on Friday (September 15).

“BRIDGE; a connecting, transitional, or intermediate route or phase between two adjacent conditions,” Morris wrote in her caption on TikTok as she posted a nine-second sneak peek. “‘The Bridge’ honors where I’ve been and but also feels like a forward step into the sun.

“As I’ve been working on my record nonstop this year, I realized these two songs deserved a moment on their own - a story in their own right, written a day apart from each other - a tender duo and bridge to my next album,” she continued. “I welcome, celebrate and grieve the changes that have happened these last few years and these two songs say it better than I ever could in a caption or interview. The album is coming but in the meantime, let’s cross the bridge together. Hope you enjoy these. ‘Wherever I’m going, hope I’m not the only one.’”

Morris’ next chapter in her music will follow Humble Quest, her latest full-length album that released in March 2022. The 11-track project included her autobiographical smash-hit, “Circles Around This Town,” along with “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” “Tall Guys, Hummingbird,” “Good Friends” and other fan favorites. Morris followed Humble Quest with Humble Quest: In Rare Form in November 2022, recording stunning live renditions of seven of the tracks from the original album.
