A Connecticut woman was arrested after she allegedly opened fire on police officers inside the Bristol police station on Thursday (October 5) night.

Authorities said that 51-year-old Suzanne Laprise walked into the station around 10:30 p.m. and started shooting at the front desk window.

The bullets did not penetrate the window, which was made of bullet-proof glass, and nobody was hurt. Officers tried to negotiate with Laprise, but she fired more shots at the window. After one of the officers returned fire, Laprise put down her gun.

She continued to resist as officers tried to detain and they had to use a stun gun to subdue her. She was taken to the hospital for an evaluation and then released back into the custody of the police.

Laprise is being held on a $3 million bond on charges of criminal attempt at murder, illegal discharge of a firearm, illegally carrying firearms under the influence of drugs/alcohol, criminal use of a weapon, violation of pistol permit requirements, illegally possessing a large capacity magazine, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree breach of peace.
