Reba McEntire & Rex Linn Adorably Show Their 'True Love' With Tater Tots

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn showed their “true love” for one another in the most perfect way: a heaping bowl of tater tots.
McEntire recently appeared on the TODAY Show, after releasing her lifestyle book and companion album, Not That Fancy. in a clip shared on Wednesday (October 11), the beloved country star “gets a sweet surprise in her dressing room” from her boyfriend, actor Linn.
The “I’m A Survivor” superstar shared in an interview on the Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this year that she and Linn met on the set of The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw in the early 1990s. They reconnected on the set of Young Sheldon in early 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic, and Linn texted McEntire about arranging dinner plans. When the couple arrived at a wine bar after dinner, McEntire remembered the staff said, “‘well, I understand you’ve already had dinner, but we do have some good appetizers…we have tater tots.’”
McEntire’s enthusiasm inspired her adorable nickname, she shared with Jennifer Hudson: Rex said, ‘that’s your nickname from here on out.’” Linn calls McEntire “tater tot,” and she calls him “sugar tot” in return: “We’re the tots… Sugar and tater. So, we’ve been together ever since.”
McEntire also referenced her nickname on The Voice, during her inaugural season as a coach (alongside Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Niall Horan, following Blake Shelton's exit from the show earlier this year).
