Tim McGraw paid tribute to country music legend Randy Travis as he posted a throwback video on Instagram on Wednesday evening (October 25). McGraw shared his stunning rendition of Travis’ 1980s ballad “On The Other Hand.”

Travis released “On The Other Hand” on his debut album Storms of Life. The North Carolina-born, Country Music Hall of Fame member went on to release many more classic country hits throughout his decades-long career, including “Deeper Than the Holler,” “Three Wooden Crosses,” “Forever and Ever, Amen,” “I Told You So” and many others.

“But on the other hand, there's a golden band/ To remind me of someone who would not understand/ On one hand, I could stay and be your lovin' man/ But the reason I must go is on the other hand/ Yeah, the reason I must go is on the other hand”

McGraw shared his rendition of “On The Other Hand” from “a few years back,” and hinted that concertgoers can expect additional covers when he kicks off his headlining tour next year. McGraw is slated to kick off his “Standing Room Only Tour,” named after the title track of his latest full-length album, in March 2024. The tour also includes “We Don’t Fight Anymore” star Carly Pearce. See the list of dates below, and listen to McGraw’s rendition of a Travis classic here:
