Carrie Underwood dished about her Thanksgiving traditions — including why her family celebrates it twice — as the “Stretchy Pants” superstar gets ready for the holiday on Thursday (November 23). Underwood shared that she’s thankful for her family, including her husband, former NHL star Mike Fisher, and the couple’s two young sons.

Underwood and Fisher are parents to Isaiah Michael, 8, and Jacob Bryan, 4. The Denim & Rhinestones artist said, per her record label, that she’s “blessed to have two incredible boys that I get to take care of and that love on me daily, and they’re just giant blessings in my life, and of course, my extended family, as well.” This time of year is “all about” cherishing heartwarming moments with family, and with Fisher’s family in Canada, Underwood noted that she gets to celebrate Thanksgiving twice.

“We don’t have too many set-in-stone Thanksgiving traditions. I find myself a lot of times working on or around Thanksgiving or unable to get home or whatever. We try to be together, but sometimes that just doesn’t work out. But yeah, I mean, I think it’s just about we eat. I eat a lot every year on Thanksgiving,” she said with a laugh. “I never skip THAT tradition. But yeah, that’s the gist of it, and I’m kind of lucky. I get two Thanksgivings, because I also get to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with my husband’s family, so if I don’t hit one, I’ll definitely be able to get the other one.”
