Watch Morgan Evans Put His Own Spin On Mariah Carey's Iconic Christmas Hit

Morgan Evans shared his acoustic rendition of an iconic holiday hit: “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” by the Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey.

Evans posted a video on Instagram as he gears up for his final three shows of the year this weekend, seeking input from his concertgoers: “ should we sneak a Christmas song into the set? 🎄☀️” Some Instagram users gushed over the Christmas cover in the comments, and dropped their own requests for festive favorites at future shows.

The Life Upside Down artist — who recently released his own holiday-inspired song, “Christmas In The Backyard” — also posted a rendition of Carey’s classic Christmas anthem last year. Evans said it was a “little mellow Christmas vibe on a rainy Nashville day 🎄”

Carey released “All I Want For Christmas Is You” in 1994. The nearly 30-year-old smash-hit has been a record-setting single, and Carey recently paid tribute to a fellow record-setter, Brenda Lee. Lee’s classic “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” recently reached No. 1, 65 years after its release. Carey sent flowers to congratulate Lee, who gushed that back-to-back No. 1 weeks after more than six decades is “so surreal.”
