Pass The Bricks Aims To Share LEGO Joy

Charlie Jeffers is a very special young man with a love for LEGO, giving back to the community and the environment.

Currently a senior at Redwood High School in Marin County, Charlie remembers playing with LEGOS starting at the age of four, and he credits that play with helping him learn about focus, creativity, and even math and engineering.

So, when he realized that not all kids were lucky enough to have access to LEGOS, he set out to do something about it. In 2020, he launched an effort to collect used LEGOS from people who no longer use them. He called his effort Pass The Bricks.

The idea is simple, they collect used LEGOS, wash, sanitize, and sort them, then create custom original sets for kids. Then, through a series of partnerships with nonprofit organizations, like the Boys And Girls Club of America, they get these sets in the hands of kids so they can start enjoying them.

To date, Charlie and his volunteers in areas like Marin County, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Austin, DC and Richmond, Virginia, have made and delivered over 3,055 LEGO sets to kids in need. And not only that, they're keeping these LEGOS out of landfills!
