RaeLynn penned a heartfelt letter to her younger self, and shared it on Instagram on Thursday (January 11). The country singer-songwriter delivered an acoustic rendition the unreleased ballad and teased that she has more music coming soon.

“The answer is YES my 3rd Album is in the works, here’s a song I wrote to my younger self ❤️💕,” the The Voice alum wrote in her caption. RaeLynn unveiled a snippet of the song with lyrics that hit home for many Instagram commenters:

“Funny girl, how’ve you been?/ I’ve been you, girl, since I was 10/ Funny girl, keep cracking jokes/ When sh*t gets real, that’s all you’ll know/ The life of the party, tonight’s entertainment, a clear sky when the parade’s raining/ Yeah, I know you’re mad at where you’re at/ Gettin’ jealous of your friends/ Riding shotgun seat to the homecoming queen with a label on your back/ But you’re sweeter/ Hell, you’re tougher/ Take it from me, you’ll be a good mother and you’ll find a man and damn you’ll rock his world/ Life ain’t mean, it’s just funny, girl.”

RaeLynn’s latest full-length album is BAYTOWN, a 14-track project named in honor of her Texas hometown. That album made its debut in September 2021. Since then, the country star has released I Love My Hometown, a 2-track collection with the title track and “If God Took Days Off.” She also released “Raisin’ Me A Country Girl,” “It’s Happening Right Here,” “Broken One” and “What’s Wrong With That?” Listen to her snippet of an unreleased song as she works on Album No. 3 here:
