A small study has found that people with blue eyes may have better vision in dim conditions compared to those with brown eyes.

This suggests that having blue eyes could be an advantage in low-light environments and may help explain why the trait evolved in certain populations, particularly in northern Europe.

However, the study's findings need to be confirmed in a larger study.

The research is still in its preliminary stages, according to Kyoko Yamaguchi, a researcher at Liverpool John Moores University.
