Kacey Musgraves Reveals Why She Would Be 'Ruthless' In 'Deeper Well' Era

Kacey Musgraves revealed a bonus track on her Deeper Well project days after she released her fifth full-length studio album on Friday (March 15). The Grammy Award-winning artist debuted the digital version of her album with the exclusive bonus track, announcing the news in a post on Instagram on Sunday (March 17).
Musgraves posted a photo of hand-written lyrics as she announced “Ruthless”: “I don’t believe in violence but you know I won’t be silent/ I’m a lover not a fighter/ But if anyone tried to hurt you, I would be Ruthless for you/ Do something crazy — you know I would, baby/ I swear I’ve got your heart and if it came down to it I would be Ruthless.” “Ruthless” is available on the digital album with the bonus track, listed at the link in her bio for $6.

Musgraves hinted at her Deeper Well era with a commercial during the 2024 Grammy Awards in February. At that time, items available for pre-order on her website were labeled “KM5,” and soon after, she revealed her album details and release date. Musgraves described the album as “a collection of songs I hold very dear to my heart. I hope it makes a home in all of your hearts, too.” She recorded it in the famed Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
On Deeper Well’s release day, Musgraves appeared on the TODAY Show in the morning and played the album in its entirety for the first time that evening at the historic Ryman Auditorium, located in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Find Deeper Well on iHeartRadio here.
