The "Free Blockbuster" movement, inspired by the popular video rental chain, aims to provide free entertainment to the masses through community kiosks stocked with VHS videos and DVDs.

Founded by Brian Morrison, the movement has spread across the U.S. and even internationally, with kiosks in Canada and Mexico.

The kiosks operate on a "TAKE a movie, LEAVE a movie" basis, promoting the sharing of media and combating the myth of scarcity.

In the Bay Area, locations in Rohnert Park, Oakland, and San Jose offer a variety of media for community members, including those who are less fortunate.

The movement encourages creativity in setting up kiosks and emphasizes the value of public possessions beyond just movies.
