Pro-Palestine protesters were heard chanting "death to America" and "death to Israel" during a rally in Dearborn, Michigan, last week.

A video shared online by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) shows the chants being yelled during Al Quds Day, a protest held by Muslims worldwide denouncing Israel, after Dearborn activist Tarek Bazzi criticized the U.S. for supporting Israel and claimed that "the chant 'death to Israel'" was logical across the globe.

Imam Khomeini, who declared International Al Quds Day, this is why he would say to pour all of your chants and all of your shots upon the head of America,” Bazzi said, referring to former Iranian leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini, before chants of “death to America” were heard.

“It’s not Genocide Joe that has to go,” he said, referring to President Joe Biden. “It’s the entire system that has to go.”

Bazzi claimed that “any system that would allow such atrocities and such devilry to happen and would support it — such a system does not deserve to exist on God’s Earth" while attempting to justify the "death to Israel chant."

“So when these fools ask us if Israel has the right to exist… the chant ‘death to Israel’ has become the most logical chant across the world today,” he said, which led to more chanting.

Bazzi was followed by Imam Usama Abdulghani, who referred to Israel as "ISIS," "Nazis," "fascists" and "racists." Dearborn has the largest Muslim population in the United States, according to the U.S. census and was referred to MEMRI Executive Director Steven Stalinsky as "America's jihad capital" in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece published in February in which he claimed Palestine supporters were celebrating “almost immediately after” Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

“People were celebrating the horrific events of that day in pro-Hamas rallies and marches throughout Dearborn,” he wrote.

At least 1,400 people, including at least 31 American citizens, were killed and more than 3,400 were injured in the initial terror attacks on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023, ABC News reported. More than 33,000 people have died in retaliation attacks on Gaza as of Wednesday, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said via the Associated Press.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared, "we are in a war," in a video shared on social media after the attacks, which included land, air and sea as Hamas fighters infiltrated Israel's southern border and fired rockets from the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu ordered an "extensive reserve mobilization" in retaliation for the unprecedented attacks.
