Pizza lovers in California, get ready! Russo’s New York Pizzeria, a popular pizza chain based in Houston, Texas, is set to open four new locations in the Golden State. According to SF Gate, the new restaurants will be in Danville, San Joaquin, Modesto, and Stockton and are expected to open their doors this summer.

The pizza chain was started by Anthony Russo in 1992. Growing up in his father's Italian restaurant in Galveston, Texas, and surrounded by his Italian relatives, Anthony developed a deep love for Italian food. This passion is reflected in Russo’s pizzas, which are made with California-grown tomatoes, mozzarella cheese from Wisconsin, and olive oil imported directly from Sicily, Italy.

Russo's New York Pizzeria has grown significantly since its humble beginnings in Houston. The brand now boasts 36 pizzerias in the U.S., most of them in Texas, and six international locations in places like Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Qatar. The upcoming California openings will join the existing Russo’s location in Clovis, which opened in 2022.

The arrival of Russo’s New York Pizzeria in these four California cities is sure to bring a taste of New York-style pizza to the West Coast. So, if you're a pizza fan in Danville, San Joaquin, Modesto, or Stockton, keep an eye out for the grand opening of Russo’s this summer!
