I'm the worst at taking pictures with people. I'm never looking at the camera. Ever.

I had lunch with my dad this week. We tried Main Street Cafe in Newtown for the first time. Excellent burger and fries.

Matt McLain and TJ Friedl are hurt. Nothing you can do about it. You know who is really screwing the Reds? Noelvi Marte. His decisions got him suspended. Marte could be playing 3B. It's weird how little has been said and written about the why and what of that story.

Every year at NFL Draft time I think about and miss Jerry Jones. He was a local pharmacist who created The Drugstore List. It was an NFL Draft Guide before its time. So simple, yet so complete. A staple of my draft prep and regular contributor on Sports Talk.

We are big fans of the show Chicago Fire: Big fan of Kelly Severide and Captain Wallace Boden characters.

I don't get why not throwing strikes is on Derek Johnson. Lucas Sims throwing 15 strikes on 36 pitches is on Lucas Sims. These aren't little leaguers.

I met my dad, sister and brother-in-law for lunch at Mt. Carmel Brewing. My dad is in from Southport, NC and my sister is in from Marietta, GA. We ate 1.5 miles away from our house from 40+ years ago on Denallen Drive. We all stopped by. I swear, when I was a kid we walked miles up a gigantic hill every day to get to Summit Elementary.

I've never found Conan O'Brien to be funny.

New show recommendation: The Gentlemen on Netflix. We are three of eight episodes in. Strong performances, including Giancarlo Esposito (Chicken Man/Breaking Bad). A nice early plot twist and a scene you won't forget.

You know what invention is underrated? The pitchback. Great as all-time catcher/umpire during a game and versatile enough to play catch with.

Really, really small world: I discovered this week that a listener's family bought our house in Anderson when we moved over 40 years ago.

This page works much better if we post about how much we enjoyed something, rather than asking where all the critics/'hater's went? If you give them oxygen, they will breathe.

My all-time favorite breakfast: Two of my mom's dippin' eggs with two sausage biscuits with ketchup. I'd skillfully use my fork to remove that clear top slimy layer on the eggs, without breaking the yellow.... and then I'd dip away with those sausage biscuits!
