A man from Tustin, California, who was convicted of punching a pregnant woman in the stomach and sexually assaulting another woman, is set to be sentenced today. According to Patch, Sean Anthony Aguilera pleaded guilty to his crimes, which took place during a crime spree in October 2022.

Aguilera was convicted of two felony counts: attempted robbery and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. He was also charged with two misdemeanors related to sexual assault. The incidents took place within a span of two hours, starting with an attack on an elderly woman.

The police were first alerted about Aguilera's actions when a witness saw him assault the elderly woman and then flee the scene. About an hour later, a woman called 911 to report that she had been sexually assaulted by a man matching Aguilera's description.

Shortly after, another woman reported that the same suspect tried to get into her vehicle as she was leaving her apartment building. She managed to escape without injury. A security guard also reported being assaulted by Aguilera, who attempted to steal his portable radio.

The final incident involved a woman who was eight months pregnant. She called 911 to report that Aguilera had punched her in the stomach before running away. Thankfully, medical personnel on the scene reported that she did not sustain serious injury.

Police caught Aguilera moments after responding to the call. He had previously been sentenced to 16 months in jail for felony vandalism and misdemeanor criminal threats in November 2021. Aguilera was placed on two years of probation, but violated the terms and was jailed for 60 days in July.

Today, Aguilera faces sentencing for his most recent crimes. The court will decide the length and terms of his punishment.
