Anne Wilson teamed up with brothers Dan and Reid Isbell to deliver an acoustic cover of Morgan Wallen’s “Sand In My Boots.” Wilson joined the duo on their podcast, God’s Country, which made its debut earlier this year.

Wallen released “Sand In My Boots” on Dangerous: The Double Album in 2021. That project also included hits and fan-favorite tracks like “Wasted On You,” “7 Summers,” “More Than My Hometown,” “This Bar” — which is also the name of the singer-songwriter’s soon-to-open bar on Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee — and more. The Isbell brothers hailed Wilson’s voice “killer” after their cover of the hit ballad together.

“Yeah, but now I'm dodging potholes in my sunburnt Silverado/ Like a heart-broke Desperado, headed right back to my roots/ Somethin' bout the way she kissed me tells me she'd love Eastern Tennessee/ Yeah, but all I brought back with me was some sand in my boots”

“For someone who started singing at 15 yrs old, [Anne Wilson] knows what she’s doing,” Dan and Reid said as they shared a clip on God’s Country’s Instagram account. “Anne knows who she is and ain’t nobody gonna change that. We weren’t sure where the convo was going to go, but had a blast talking turkey hunting, her new album and how she’s handled being propelled into the spotlight at such a young age after growing up dreaming to be an astronaut 😂 She took us to church telling us about her Jesus and can’t wait for y’all to hear this episode ✊🏼”

Wilson, a 22-year-old Christian singer-songwriter from Lexington, Kentucky, released her debut country album earlier this month. The Grammy-nominated artist released REBEL, a 16-track collection that features Wilson as a songwriter on every track, teaming up with some powerhouse writers in Nashville. The album also includes collaborations Lainey Wilson, Chris Tomlin and Jordan Davis. Wilson announced on Friday (April 26) that she’s hitting the road on “The Rebel Tour” later this year, including her headlining show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. See the full list of our stops below.

“I’m so excited to hit the road this fall on ‘The REBEL Tour!’” shares Anne. “We’re going to be playing some amazing venues all across the country and it feels like a dream come true! Ever since writing and recording this new record, I’ve been waiting for the chance to take REBEL on the road. I’ll be counting down the days till show No.1. Can’t wait to sing with y’all!”

Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke CombsMiranda LambertScotty McCreeryJon PardiLainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast this year. Guests appearing on the show so far include HARDYDustin LynchColbie Caillat and others.

“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
