A fistfight at an event venue in Florida resulted in gunfire that left ten people injured. Authorities said that officers were called to Cabana Live in Sanford early Sunday (April 29) morning due to a large gathering of people.
While officers were there, they heard gunshots as people started to run for their lives.
"I heard pow pow pow I was so frightened I started looking around everybody just roaming around scattering," Neisha Foster told WESH.
"I was terrified," she added. "I was crawling on the ground screaming for my sister. Everybody is trying to ask me what's going on. Everybody is clueless."
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said that a verbal argument escalated into a fistfight between two people. During the brawl, a teenager who wasn't involved in the fight pulled out a gun and started shooting into the crowd.
A security guard tackled the teen, identified as 16-year-old Christopher Bouie Jr., and secured the gun.
Bouie was taken into custody and taken to a juvenile detention center. He is facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a minor, use and display of a firearm during a felony, firing a weapon on public property, and attempted homicide.
Officials said that ten people suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a minor injury in the shooting.
"[Tank] sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital, and he is in good spirits. We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate, but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this incident," the Texans said in a statement posted on X.
