RaeLynn swapped her cowgirl boots for some unexpected footwear before covering an early 2000s anthem during a recent show.

The Texas-born singer-songwriter posted a video of that moment on Instagram on Tuesday (April 30). RaeLynn said into the mic as she shared why she opted to switch her shoes: “They’re cool. And they’re very fashionable. My nieces told me that I had to wear them because I don’t wear boots every day. This is just what I wear at night. I don’t wear these during the day. So, I’m gonna go put these on, and we’re gonna sing this song, OK?”

Returning to the stage with her slightly-altered wardrobe, RaeLynn and special guest Nate Kenyon covered “Redneck Woman,” which Gretchen Wilson released in 2004. The Voice alumna wrote in her Instagram caption: “We have no fun at all on the road, [Nate Kenyon] thanks for being the best sport and singing redneck woman 😂 SEE YALL THIS FRIDAY CALI.” The next show on RaeLynn’s “Funny Girl Tour” is set for this Friday (May 3). She’s also joining Kane Brown on his headlining “In The Air Tour” for a few stadium shows in July, August and September.

RaeLynn released “Funny Girl” earlier this year. The ballad serves as a heartfelt letter to her younger self. It arrived as RaeLynn continues to work on her third full-length studio album, following her 14-track project titled after her hometown, BAYTOWN.
