Rico was nominated by his wife Ingrid, who wrote:

"My husband Nathan is an amazing husband and dad to our two kiddos. He works so hard for 911. He puts in 100 percent to his job and family. He has had a rough year after he had back surgery last summer. He lost a great friend recently and a friends dad. He’s just had a birthday but we didn’t get to celebrate because he went home to see family for his aunt and uncles memorial. He spent the week with his other aunt, mom and sister whom he loves very much. He deserves a day out and I would love to surprise him with a fun outing on the water and brunch. He’s always helping others and he gives his heart and soul for family, friends and even strangers."
