Barron Trump Declines Florida Delegate Invite

(Tallahassee, FL)-- Donald Trump's 18-year-old son is declining an invitation to be a state delegate for the Florida Republican Party. Last week, the Florida GOP chairman said Barron Trump would be one of Florida's at-large delegates at the July convention, where the party will officially make Donald Trump its presidential nominee. Then Friday, former first lady Melania Trump issued a statement saying while Barron was "honored to have been chosen as a delegate" he must "regretfully decline" due to "prior commitments."

Drugs Seized By Coast Guard

(Miami, FL) -- Millions of dollars worth of drugs are now in the custody of federal authorities. The Coast Guard on Friday offloaded over 16-thousand pounds of cocaine and marijuana at Port Everglades. The drugs were seized in the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean in six separate cases. The Coast Guard estimates the drugs have a street value of about 185 million dollars. Ten people were arrested. 

Girl Killed In Boat Crash

(Miami, FL) -- A reward is available to anyone who can identify the boat operator responsible for a girl's death off Miami-Dade County. The FWC says a 15-year-old girl died Saturday after she was hit by a boat in Biscayne Bay while waterskiing near Nixon Beach. The boat that hit her is described as a light blue Center Console with three or four white outboard engines. The FWC is offering a 20-thousand dollar reward.       

Key West Man Facing More Charges After Stealing Tractor

(Key West, FL) -- A man is facing more charges after police say he drove to a Key West, Florida college on a stolen tractor to kill two people. Investigators say 22-year-old Ethan Layne stole a tractor from a golf course he works out and went to the College of the Florida Keys last Saturday. He is accused of driving through the lobby of a dorm before ramming into a truck with a man and his four-year-old daughter inside. Police say he damaged a total of three cars before eventually aiming the tractor at police. An officer fired multiple shots toward the suspect before arresting him. Layne is facing three counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and grand theft.

2023 Popular Baby Names

(Undated) -- Olivia and Liam are the top baby names for the fifth year in a row. On Friday, the Social Security Administration released its list of the most popular names for newborns in 2023. Oliver, James, Noah, Sophia, Emma and Charlotte also made the rankings. The annual list also found that the show "Game of Thrones" continues to have an influence, with nearly 400 baby girls named Khaleesi last year.
