Body Of Man Riding Wooden Raft Down Colorado River Found In Grand Canyon

The body of a missing New Mexico man was found in Grand Canyon National Park on Friday (May 10) by park rangers. Park officials reported that 58-year-old Thomas Robison was missing in a press release on April 24, three days after his 2001 Toyota Tacoma was found abandoned at Lee's Ferry in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

Lee's Ferry is just a few miles south of the border between Arizona and Utah.

Robison was reportedly attempting to ride down the Colorado River on a wooden raft that he made himself.

His body was recovered six miles down the river from Lee's Ferry by park rangers.

Robinson's body was then transferred to the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office, which will confirm his identity and conduct an autopsy to determine how he died. 

The National Park Service is also working with the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office to investigate the circumstances around Robinson's death.
