Just One Thing: Are tacos sandwiches (a judge thinks so)

I can’t decide if this story shows how stupid this country is or how smart it is. In Fort Wayne, Indiana, a developer committed, in his plans submitted to the city planning commission, to putting a made-to-order sandwich shop in a strip mall that he owns. He wanted to open a taco and burrito shop and proposed an amendment to the plan to allow those and other Mexican-style foods. The commission denied the amendment. So, first, that’s really stupid. A judge said the commission was within its rights so…end of the taco shop, correct? No, not so fast. Because the judge also ruled that tacos and burritos are “Mexican-style sandwiches and the original written agreement does not restrict potential restaurants to only American cuisine-styled sandwiches” so the amendment was “courteous but not necessary”.

This is what our Congress is becoming. Marjorie Taylor Greene isn't alone in making Congress even less worthy of respect than it already was but she's a big part of it. Clearly others are willing to do the "mean girl" thing too. I sure do wish Greene were removed from committees. I mean, how often is AOC actually right? It takes someone as idiotic as Greene to make that happen.

Two things to note in the first story, one of which is further addressed in the second story. First, Dave Williams is a hypocrite and lowlife of the first order with his accusations against Jeff Crank (whom I endorse as the Republican nominee in the 5th Congressional District) of ties to China when such ties are (or were until recently) actually in his family. And second, Dave Williams Will support Donald Trump's aim to add tariffs to US imports because Williams never stops licking Trump's boots...even though those tariffs put his parents out of business.

I owe you this from yesterday: Editorial: Vail cancels Lakota Danielle SeeWalker for Palestine speech (denverpost.com)

In short, while I likely disagree with the artist's view on the war against Hamas, she's not wrong to express one. AND the city is not wrong for not wanting to be thrust into the middle of a globally divisive debate about the war. So the only thing really wrong here is the Denver Post's take on it all. I hope they will publish the letter I wrote to the editor about it.
