Carrie Underwood got nostalgic on Monday morning (May 20) as she posted a nearly 20-year-old throwback photo from her American Idol audition in 2005.

“REFLECTION of the week: contestant number 14887 received her golden ticket to Hollywood! I can’t believe it has been almost 20 years since auditioning for [American Idol]!” Underwood wrote in her caption on Instagram. Underwood won the smash-hit competition show in its fourth season in 2005. She released her debut full-length album, Some Hearts, later that year. The 14-track project included “Wasted,” “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Before He Cheats,” “Inside Your Heaven” and other highlights that launched Underwood’s career. Since then, she’s become known for hit singles like “Out Of That Truck,” “Blown Away,” “Undo It,” “All-American Girl,” “Cowboy Casanova,” “Church Bells” and many more throughout her nearly two-decade career.

Underwood’s American Idol throwback photo arrives days before she returns to Las Vegas for the next set of shows in her residency, REFLECTION. She previously said that “REFLECTION is a show I’m so proud of and have so much fun performing. ...[Vegas] has become our home away from home where we get to play to audiences from all over the world.” See Underwood’s upcoming residency dates here:
