11-Year-Old In Custody In Shooting Death Of Relative

(Ocoee, FL) -- An eleven-year-old child in Ocoee is in custody in connection with the shooting death of an adult relative. According to the Ocoee Police Department, a 55-year-old woman was shot to death in her home Friday morning. The release said the child lived with the woman. Police say they currently aren't seeking any other suspects.

Former FL Politician Charged After He Allegedly Attacked Osceola Co. Official Friday Night

(St. Cloud, FL)-- A lobbyist who’s also a former Florida state representative is in custody after he allegedly assaulted an Osceola County School Board member on Friday. Officials say 56-year-old Mike Horner was hit with a single count of battery of an elected official prior to posting bond Saturday morning. The alleged victim - Jon Arguello - reportedly posted video of Friday night's incident at a St. Cloud barbecue joint. Arguello claims Horner "punched, scratched and choked" him, resulting in a whiplash injury. Horner - who denies the charge - was released after posting a 25 hundred dollar bond. 

Eleven Arrested In Child Predator Sting In Orlando

(Orlando, FL) -- Nearly a dozen people are facing charges after a child predator sting. Orlando Police announced the results of Operation CACHE. Eleven men between 18 and 77 were arrested in the investigation that started almost two weeks ago. Orlando Police worked with the FBI, DHS, Secret Service and others. Detectives posed as minors and parents with access to minors to find online predators who wanted to have sex with children as young as 13. Five of the suspects are Orlando residents. One of them allegedly told detectives he wanted to be a youth pastor. Another suspect just got out of prison two months ago after serving ten years for attempted homicide. The OPD reminds parents to monitor their children's' social media accounts and report any incidents to law enforcement.     

Coast Guard Rescues Seven Off Brevard County

(Cape Canaveral, FL)-- Lightning is blamed for leaving over a dozen people stranded in a boat off Brevard County. The Coast Guard announced yesterday it rescued seven people after lightning hit their boat Saturday. The strike disabled their 24-foot boat about two miles off Cape Canaveral. The Coast Guard says one person was taken to a hospital in a helicopter and six others were helped off the boat.     

Florida A&M Campus To Reopen Monday

(Tallahassee, FL) --Florida A&M will reopen its campus on Monday after repairing damage caused by a tornado more than a week ago. The tornado that struck the school on May 10th was one of three tornadoes that blew through Tallahassee. Roofs were damaged, trees and utility poles were knocked down, and power was out on the campus following the tornado. Damages caused Florida A-and-M to hold its first week of summer school by remote.

Trump Leads Biden In New Poll

(Undated) -- Donald Trump continues to draw strong support in Florida. A CBS News poll released yesterday shows him leading President Biden by nine points in the state. As for abortion, the poll shows Amendment Four will be a close vote. The referendum would legalize abortion until fetal viability. It needs 60 percent to pass, and the poll shows it has 60 percent support. Amendment Three would legalize marijuana for anyone 21 or over. The poll shows it has 56 percent support, but it also needs 60 percent to pass.

HillsCo School Bus Stolen

(Tampa, FL) -- A Pasco County man is accused of stealing a Hillsborough County school bus. FHP says the bus was stolen Saturday morning in Tampa at King High School. It was found in Sarasota, and the driver was arrested. He was identified as Land O'Lakes 32-year-old Daniel Saez. Troopers say he drove the bus to Miami and was returning it when he was caught. Saez also allegedly admitted to being high and drunk when he took the bus. He's charged with grand theft.
