Nas plans to team up with the Las Vegas Philharmonic to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut album Illmatic.

On Monday, May 20, the Mass Appeal founder announced the dates for his upcoming performances inside the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. Nas is expected to bring his greatest hits to life with the help of the with a live orchestra during three shows on Labor Day Weekend. The first concert will begin on August 29 followed by a second show on August 30. The exclusive concert series will conclude on September 1.

“Las Vegas has always served as a creative outlet for my music, and these performances will take that to the next level,” said Nas. “I am excited to partner with the Las Vegas Philharmonic to bring this first-of-its-kind performance to Encore Theater and to showcase my music to my fans in Las Vegas in a whole new way.”

Nas aims to deliver a rare rendition of his debut album as he's done in the past. Back in 2018, the Grammy award-winning rapper celebrated the 20th anniversary of the groundbreaking project by performing his songs with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He rapped his memorable verses while conductor Steven Reineke and his orchestra recreated popular instrumentals by DJ Premier and Large Professor.

Tickets for Nas and Las Vegas Philharmonic's shows go on sale this Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. PST.
