Five people were shot in a workplace shooting in Chester, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday (May 22). Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said that two people died and three others were rushed to the hospital after a mass shooting at Delaware County Linen.
One of the hospitalized victims is in critical condition.
Chester Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky said the suspect, a current employee of the business, fled the scene in a black Hyundai but was pulled over and taken into custody in the nearby city of Trainer.
Officers recovered a handgun from the vehicle but did not say if it was the weapon used in the shooting.
"This is a story that plays out too often across the United States of America. A disgruntled employee has walked into a linen shop -- the Delaware County Linen shop behind us -- and shot five people, five coworkers," Stollsteimer said at the scene.
"Two are deceased, three are at the hospital. I'm asking everybody in this region who is listening today to pray for them right now," he added. "They are in serious condition and we are hopeful they are able to survive."
