Justin Timberlake is putting the past behind him with the release of new tour merch just eight days after his arrest, announced via social media on Tuesday (June 25). The "Mirror" hitmaker unveiled a new t-shirt design to celebrate the New York Knicks and commemorate his Forget Tomorrow World Tour excursion to The Big Apple, despite the visit getting off to a rocky start.
The 43-year-old musician was arrested in Long Island the early morning hours of June 18th and was charged with a DWI after driving through a stop sign and swerving along the road. According to People, the bartender that served Timberlake and his friends at the American Hotel in the Hamptons the night of his arrest later revealed that the artist only had one martini before getting behind the wheel of the vehicle, despite being seen with bloodshot eyes in his mugshot.
The multi-platinum selling artist spent one night in jail after declining to take a breathalyzer test and was released the next morning. The new t-shirts, created by Timberlake, pay homage to the Knicks with a sleek orange and blue design.
"This is so important right now. Let's go! Got those Knicks colors," he exclaimed in a video shared to Instagram, holding up the shirt to display his tour logo followed by the dates of his two Madison Square Garden shows.
The "SexyBack" icon is slated to perform again at MSG tonight (June 26) as part of his final Forget Tomorrow World Tour show at the legendary venue.
Timberlake has yet to publicly comment on his arrest.
