Grand Rapids native Lisa Cecil recently won a gigantic lottery prize and was so surprised that she had to wake her entire family up in the middle of the night to tell them the exciting news. According to Click On Detroit, the 66-year-old purchased a Powerball ticket at the Family Fare on Northland Drive Northeast in Grand Rapids, and won $1 million. At first she was in total disbelief.

“I play Powerball regularly, and I always check my numbers online after the drawing. It was after midnight when I checked this ticket, and I saw I had three numbers, then four, and I thought to myself, ‘I think I just won some money.’ When I checked off the fifth number, I was in disbelief."

So, she woke up her entire family to confirm the win.

“I woke everyone in our house up, saying, ‘I think I just won $1 million.’ Once my family looked the ticket over and confirmed what I was seeing, I knew it was real. I have been playing the lottery for a long time, and I never dreamed I would win a prize like this. It’s unbelievable.”

Cecil plans to pay off her home share the remainder of the money with family.
