Radiohead's side project The Smile have canceled a European tour, revealing Jonny Greenwood was hospitalized after falling "seriously ill from an infection." Thankfully, it sounds like he will recover. The band shared the scary news in a statement on Instagram.
"A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill from an infection that needed emergency hospital treatment, some of it in intensive care. Mercifully he is now out of danger and will soon return home," it reads. "We have been instructed by the medical team in charge of Jonny’s care to cancel all engagements until he has had time to make a full recovery. To that end, The Smile tour of Europe in August is cancelled." After instructing fans how to refund tickets, the band ended its message with a sentiment we're all thinking: "We wish Jonny a speedy recovery."
The trio, which also features Radiohead's Thom Yorke and drummer Tom Skinner, released their sophomore album Wall of Eyes in January. See the full statement and list of canceled tour dates below.
