Gabby Barrett marked an “unforgettable” career milestone when she performed for the first time since welcoming Baby No. 3 earlier this year.
Barrett recently took the stage for her debut at the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. The “I Hope” artist said as she shared photos on Instagram that she was “so incredibly happy and grateful that I got to play the Grand Ole Opry.” Her long-awaited first performance on the historic stage arrives after years of waiting. Barrett “was supposed to make my debut in 2020, but then Covid happened and pregnancies, etc. so a piece of my heart is officially filled.”
Barrett’s performance included her heartfelt father-daughter single, “Dance Like No One’s Watching,” a ballad penned by Emily Weisband, James McNair and Luke Combs, who also provides backing vocals on the track. The song appears on Barrett’s sophomore album, Chapter & Verse, an autobiographical project that arrived earlier this year. Barrett took more creative control than ever by co-writing nine of the 14 tracks and co-producing the album. Chapter & Verse also included “Cowboy Back,” “Glory Days,” “You’re My Texas” — co-written with Miranda Lambert and Hillary Lindsey — and more.
Chapter & Verse released weeks before Barrett and husband Cade Foehner welcomed Baby No. 3. Their daughter, Ivy Josephine Foehner (Ivy Jo), was born on February 17. She joins big sister Baylah May Foehner, who was born in January 2021, and big brother Augustine Boone Foehner, born in October 2022. Barrett and Foehner met as contestants on American Idol in 2018 and got married the following year. She's one of several country artists to welcome a baby in 2024, along with Kane Brown and wife Katelyn Brown, Jessie James Decker, Jon Pardi and others. See the list of pregnancy announcements here.
After making her Grand Ole Opry debut, Barrett is gearing up for dozens of tour dates, beginning with a show on Thursday (July 25) in Mulvane, Kansas. See the dates below.
