Bacon's journey to the Olympics began at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda, Maryland, where she broke numerous swimming records. She later attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she continued to excel in her sport. She also shares a special connection with seven-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer, Katie Ledecky, who is also an alumna of Stone Ridge School. Bacon spoke to the Daily Cardinal about Ledecky saying, "She's always been a major role model to me.”
