Collin Morikawa, a 27-year-old golfer from La Canada, California, is set to represent the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This will be Morikawa's second Olympic appearance, having finished fourth at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Morikawa, a former student at the University of California, Berkeley, has had a successful career in golf. He has won six times on the PGA Tour, with his most notable victories at the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship. This year, he has finished in the Top 5 in 15 PGA Tour events.

According to the Marin Independent Journal, Morikawa beat out U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau for one of the four spots on the U.S. Olympic Golf Team. The selection was based on rankings, with Morikawa currently ranked seventh in the world.

During his time at Cal, Morikawa was a four-time All-American, the individual medalist at the 2019 Pac-12 championships, and the conference's player of the year. He also holds Cal's stroke-play average record at 69.78.
