Aging is inevitable, but it can also be epic.

While everyone has no choice but to undergo this convoluted yet beautiful process, there is one county in each state where residents have longer life spans (on average) than people scattered throughout the rest of the state.

Be it environment, quality healthcare, or increased exercise, something about this specific Texas county gives it the reputation of being the place where people live the longest in the entire state.

According to Stacker, Presidio County has the longest life expectancy in Texas. Residents in this county live to be 83.1 years on average (5.9 years longer than the state average).

Here's what Stacker had to say about compiling the data to discover the counties with the longest life expectancies in each state:

"By delving into 2024 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, Stacker identified the counties with the longest life expectancy in Texas. Life expectancy measures the average number of years from birth a person can expect to live and is calculated based on the number of deaths in a given time period and the average number of people at risk of dying during that period. Counties with unreliable or insufficient data were excluded from the analysis. Mortality data came from the National Vital Statistics System."
