Sabrina Carpenter is sending out some praise for one of her besties Taylor Swift, who she grew closer to while joining the superstar for several shows on the international leg of the Eras Tour last year.
The "Please Please Please" singer opened up more about her friendship with the Midnights musician in an interview with Variety for its August 2024 cover story, calling Swift a "rock star" who handles everything with "grace," per People.
"She's just such a gangster with all of it," Carpenter said. "No matter what people are saying, everything that I've ever seen her tackle, she's done so with grace."
Carpenter shared how being friends with Swift and other musicians assists in her own musical journey as she can ask them for advice she couldn't get anywhere else.
"It's so cool for me to get a perspective on this whole process from her and the community of artists that I feel I'm close to — to get advice from them on stuff that you can't just ask the internet," she said. "We're always playing each other our [music], and whenever I start to think, 'Maybe I'll get on Twitter [now X] and say something about this,' I'm always like, 'Maybe I'll write a song instead.'"
The "Espresso" hitmaker also addressed Swifties' concern with her SKIMS campaign earlier this year and whether or not she had to "ask for [Swift's] permission." The Folklore musician and the SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian have had a public feud that goes back several years and even reportedly inspired tracks on Swift's latest album The Tortured Poets Department.
Carpenter shut down the idea she needed permission from Swift, saying, "She's one of my best, best friends, and we grab dinner or text and catch up like you would with your best friend."
