New documents are giving insight into Jennifer Lopez's decision to file for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage.

The "On the Floor" singer filed for divorce from the Argo director earlier this week on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia, submitting legal documents to the Los Angeles County Superior Court. According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Lopez reportedly stated the reason for her split from her ex as irreconcilable differences, listing their separation as April 26.

Additionally, the filings showed that Lopez was requesting a name change in order to drop Affleck's surname after adopting it when they initially tied the knot in July 2022 in what she previously called a "romantic" and "traditional" gesture. The This Is Me... Now singer has asked a judge to adjust her name from Jennifer Lynn Affleck to Jennifer Lynn Lopez.

The documents also stated that Lopez didn't want spousal support for either herself or for the Accountant star, who reportedly had "no interest" in fixing their marriage. Sources recently told People that the "heartbroken" musician is ready to move on after "[trying] really hard to make things work."

Lopez and Affleck officially said "I do" in a small Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022 after rekindling their romance the previous year and went on to have a bigger ceremony with family and friends August 20 of that year. However, reports of trouble in their marriage hit a peak earlier this year after Affleck was seen without his wedding ring and Lopez "liked" a cryptic post about unhealthy relationships. Prior to Lopez filing for divorce, reports surfaced that the rift was caused by "too much drama" and that there was a "slim" chance they could work things out.
