Luke Combs reacted to a cross-genre mashup of his Twisters soundtrack anthem, “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma.”
Combs shared a video on Instagram that has circulated TikTok and other social media platforms of the country song infused with “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” by Soulja Boy. The North Carolina-born country star wrote in the caption when he shared the video on Tuesday evening (September 3): “Yooooo!!!!” Hundreds of commenters reacted to the video Combs shared as of publication time on Wednesday (September 4), including deeming it the mashup they didn’t know they needed, and writing that the two songs work unexpectedly well together.
Combs unleashed the lead single from the star-studded Twisters album in May. He premiered a music video directed by Alex Bittan and featuring a cameo from NASCAR race driver John Hunter Nemechek. The team staged a gnarly storm when they filmed the video in an open space in Dickson, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” was the first song to release from the Twisters album, which also included Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Megan Moroney, Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Shania Twain and many others.
The album released the same day as the highly-anticipated Twisters movie, nodding to the 90s film. It follows a “retired tornado chaser” who “is persuaded to return to Oklahoma to work with a new team and new technologies,” per its description on IMDb. The cast includes Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos.
