Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered a quad injury and is questionable to return for his team's home opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday (September 15).
"#Vikings WR Justin Jefferson has gone to the locker room with a quad injury and is questionable to return," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero wrote on his X account.
Jefferson was helped off the field by Vikings staffers and taken into the blue tent to be examined before going to the locker room. Niners All-Pro defensive end Nick Bosa was also hurt on the same play.
Jefferson recorded four receptions for 133 yards and one touchdown on a 97-yard pass from quarterback Sam Darnold in the second quarter.

Jefferson was limited to 10 games due to a hamstring injury in 2023, but still managed to record more than 1,000 receiving yards for the fourth consecutive season. The former LSU standout signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension, which includes $110 million guaranteed, with the Vikings this offseason, which made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Minnesota was already without No. 2 wide receiver Jordan Addision who was ruled out due to an ankle injury he re-aggravated during the team's Week 1 win against the New York Giants last Sunday (September 8).
