Tech billionaire Elon Musk has announced his plans to attend a rally for former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. The rally, scheduled for Saturday (October 5), will take place at the same location where Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in July. Musk confirmed his attendance in a post on his social media platform, X, stating, "I will be there to support!"

The rally marks Trump's return to the site where 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from a rooftop on the outskirts of the fairgrounds, injuring Trump and killing rally attendee Corey Comperatore. Federal snipers subsequently killed Crooks. This was the first of two assassination attempts Trump has faced, with the second occurring last month on Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.

According to The Guardian, the rally is expected to draw a crowd ranging from 15,000 to as high as 100,000 people. The Secret Service is preparing for an estimated 60,000 attendees.

Musk's decision to attend the rally follows his endorsement of Trump for another term in the White House. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO has become increasingly involved in politics, even agreeing to lead a government efficiency commission if Trump wins re-election. He has also created a super PAC supporting Trump that has been heavily involved in get-out-the-vote efforts in the final months of the campaign.
