A 4.1-magnitude earthquake was reported in Montana on Monday (October 7), according to the United States Geological Survey.
The earthquake was centered in Dillon at a depth of 13.7 kilometers (about 8.5 miles). The USGS said it received 120 reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.
The Montana earthquake was reported two days after a 3.7-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Saturday (October 5), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered in Petrolia at a depth of 10.0 kilometers (about 6.2 miles).
