Stephen Curry's Injury Diagnosis Revealed

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has reportedly sustained a left peroneal strain and will be re-evaluated on Friday (November 1), a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Shams Charania on Monday (October 28).

Curry, 36, underwent an MRI Sunday (October 27) night after suffering the injury in the fourth quarter of a 112-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Curry's injury was perceived to be "mild or moderate" after Sunday's game, however, there was reported to be a level of concern regarding a potential left ankle injury after multiple sprains.

Kerr confirmed that the Warriors expected Curry to possibly miss several games while speaking to reporters after the game.

"I feel more comfortable that we can withstand an absence offensively without Steph because of [our] depth," Kerr said via ESPN.

Curry initially twisted his left ankle with less than three minutes remaining in the third quarter, checking out of the game, limping to the sideline and sitting on the bench, at which point he received treatment from Warriors athletic trainer Drew Yoder. The four-time NBA champion eventually checked back into the game four minutes into the fourth quarter before suffering the left peroneal strain minutes later.

Curry, who is just months removed from winning his first Olympic gold medal, is averaging 18.3 points, 6.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds through his first three games of the 2024-25 NBA season.
