Watch Dan + Shay Rollerblade Down The Street In Matching Santa Jackets

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney rollerbladed down the street donning Santa jackets to film the music video for “Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town,” which premiered on Friday morning (November 1).

The song is one of 21 that appears on Dan + Shay’s It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album. The award-winning duo released the massive project after a decade in the making. The double album includes Dan + Shay’s previously-released holiday singles in addition to their renditions of Christmas classics and more.

“THE ROLLERBLADING SANTAS are rolling through your neighborhood to remind you that the date is November 1st and that means IT’S OFFICIALLY CHRISTMAS,” Dan + Shay announced as they shared a snippet of the music video on Instagram. “We’re celebrating with a brand new double album, and a brand new music video for “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town”, available everywhere now. *PS - No Santas were injured (too badly) during the making of this music video.* 🎅🏽🎅🏽”

Smyers wrote in the comments, “we risked our lives for this content.” Mooney said, “I’ve never felt older than I did on those blades. I was DYING. Back of an 80 year old.”

Dan + Shay released It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album on October 18. Smeyers and Mooney wrote or co-wrote 11 tracks on the record — including three tracks featuring Smyers as the sole writer — which was produced by Smyers and Scott Hendricks, per the duo’s record label. Dan + Shay had been hinting at a holiday album, which has been widely requested by fans for years. They surprised fans when they revealed their first-ever Christmas project would be a double album.

“It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album is a 21-song collection of brand new originals and our take on classics that you already know and love,” Dan + Shay said as they announced the album last month. “This project has been a decade in the making, and we are so proud of every single note. We truly leaned into our love for the holiday season and think we found some magic in these songs.
