Kelly Clarkson remembered her emotional reaction to one of Kelsea Ballerini’s newest songs. Clarkson and the Patterns singer-songwriter are “making some magic together” when they take the stage on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday (November 4).

“She sent (the song) to me. She’s like, ‘you want to…sing this with me when I come on [the show]?’” Clarkson recalled in a teaser for the performance. “I was like, first of all, crying walking around New York City. This is a really beautiful song. It’s so beautiful. And it’s meaningful because a lot of people feel like (they’re) damaged or discarded or whatever in relationships and afterwards. And so, to find someone that can see the beauty in that, and the shine instead of the dull, it’s pretty magical.”

Clarkson didn’t confirm which song she and Ballerini would sing together on The Kelly Clarkson Show, though the pair reminisced on previous performances together on tour and at the CMA Awards in 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee. Ballerini, Clarkson and Carly Pearce performed “You’re Drunk Go Home,” the collaboration that appeared on Ballerini’s last full-length album, Subject To Change. months later, the East Tennessee-born artist followed Subject To Change with a surprise EP and short film, Rolling Up The Welcome Mat.

Ballerini debuted her new studio record, Patterns, on October 25. the highly-anticipated record includes “Sorry Mom,” “Baggage,” “First Rodeo,” “Wait!,” “Cowboys Cry Too” with Noah Kahan, and other highlights appearing on the 15-track collection. Ballerini teamed up with a powerhouse group of female songwriters and producers to usher in her fresh era of music. She took a “beautiful and brutal look into myself and the people I love the most,” throughout the course of creating the record.

Ballerini celebrated Patterns’ arrival with a sold out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In January, she’ll kick off her first headlining arena tour with special guests Maisie Peters and Marynn Taylor. See the list of dates here.
