TOOL Singer Maynard James Keenan Reveals His Favorite Actual Tool

Maynard James Keenan recently visited the Bertcast podcast, and host/comedian Bert Kreischer asked the TOOL singer a question we all want to know: What's his favorite actual tool?

The question was requested by Kreischer's daughter who's a big fan of the band. “A battery-operated pneumatic nail gun,” Keenan responded, complete with sound effect. “I remember when it was like the canister and it would clog up and get all f***ed up. The newer ones, you can charge the battery, and you can get some s*** done.”

“Does that answer your f***in’ question?” he quipped.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kreischer attempted to explain the difference between TOOL and Keenan's other band A Perfect Circle. “I feel like Tool was more heavy, more like blue, darker blue and black, whereas A Perfect Circle seemed like more purple and yellow. Does that make sense?” He said

“Do you smoke a lot of marijuana?” Keenan replied before adding, “The difference between those bands is the wig.”

TOOL have a busy year ahead of them. Next year will see the band tour South America for the first time ever and host their own destination festival in the Dominican Republic.
