British supermodel Georgina Cooper has died at the age of 46, the Daily Mail reports.
Cooper, who rose to prominence in the 1990s, reportedly died from a blood-brain hemorrhage stemming from long COVID, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Women's Wear Daily. The model was reportedly hospitalized while vacationing on the Greek island of Kos with her husband, Nigel, whom she married several months prior, according to the Daily Mail.
Cooper was reportedly hospitalized on October 21 and flown to a better-equipped location after her condition worsened, where she received treatment for five days before her death. The model's former agent, Dean Goodman, told the Daily Mail that Cooper “had been unwell during Covid and had developed some health problems and had been in and out of hospital,” noting that she "had plans for the future" and "was looking forward to her life" with her new husband.
A source on the island said Cooper had vacationed there for more than 20 years, which included her honeymoon with Nigel in July before returning in October.
“This was all very sudden and it is a shock for all of us," the source told the Daily Mail. “She was talking about coming back in May because she wanted to find somewhere to live and maybe start a business. It’s so sad.”
