Lil Wayne says he and Kendrick Lamar are back on good terms amid the drama over K-Dot's 2025 Super Bowl performance.
The Louisiana native reflected on the NFL's decision to select Lamar as the headliner for the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans while appearing on the Skip Bayless Show on Monday, December 16. During their conversation, Skip asked Wayne for his reaction to Kendrick Lamar's bars about him on "wacced out murals." Weezy said he never heard the lyrics before but didn't take them personally. He also revealed that he spoke to Kendrick after his GNX album came out and wished him well ahead of his anticipated performance.

“He didn't let me down," Wayne said. "I’ve spoken to him, and I wish him all the best and I told him he better kill it. You gotta kill it.”
Fans were convinced a beef was brewing between Weezy and Lamar after the Compton native namedropped him on the intro to GNX. On the song, he rapped, "Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud/Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down." Wayne said he understood where Lamar came from as a fan and didn't consider the lyrics disrespectful. Although the two are on good terms, don't expect to see Weezy at the Super Bowl in February. When Skip asked if he had plans to join Lamar onstage, Wayne said he wouldn't be in the country.
