The show must go on! Sabrina Carpenter hit the stage at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 2) at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and her performance was filled with mishaps and malfunctions, but not to worry – everything went exactly as planned.

The Grammy Winner kicked off her set with a jazzy rendition of her hit "Espresso," wearing a sparkly tuxedo-style outfit as she kept trying to find her spotlight, which repeatedly moved every time she stepped into the light. The funny routine continued with missed cues from Carpenter and her dancers, running into each other, and a baton twirl that went awry when Carpenter lost her grip.

Carpenter ditched her tux for a bedazzled blue number as she launched into the normal version of the track, dancing around a ballroom and grand staircase and even wowing the crowd with a tap dance break.

When a small set house appeared on stage, she briefly moved into a quick performance of her song "Please Please Please," before the back of the house fell apart. One of her dancers spun her around, causing her to laugh, before she was set back down facing the wrong way, but no matter as she went back to "Espresso" to finish out the song to loud applause from the audience.

In addition to her performance, Carpenter was nominated for several awards throughout the night, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year for Short n' Sweet.

Despite the success of her song "Espresso," Carpenter didn't always think fans would be able to "connect" with the catchy track when it first came out in April 2024. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she worried that the time of year she released the song would have an impact on its success because she saw espresso and coffee as "more of a fall beverage."

"I really didn't know if it would connect, but the sentiment and the sound of the song and the confidence that it kind of just carries along with it was something that I really believed in," she said.

Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, who returned as host for the fifth year in a row, the 2025 Grammy Awards featured performances from artists like Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Doechii, Shakira, Charli XCX, Benson Boone, and many more as well as some must-see moments both on and off stage. Additionally, the show helped raise funds in support of the wildfire relief efforts in L.A. amid the devastating blazes ravaging the city.
