Eagles Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore Lands Head Coaching Gig

The New Orleans Saints officially confirmed the hiring of Kellen Moore in a post shared on their X account Tuesday (February 11).

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is reportedly "finalizing a deal" to become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero for The Insiders.

"#Eagles OC Kellen Moore is finalizing a deal with the #Saints to be their new head coach, per The Insiders. What was expected for more than a week will be official soon. Moore leaves Philly a Super Bowl champion, and now the work begins in New Orleans," Rapoport wrote on his X account.

"[Saints] GM Mickey Loomis called other candidates today to deliver the news. At age 36, coming off a Super Bowl win with the #Eagles, Moore gets his shot to run the show," Pelissero wrote on his X account.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie had previously told Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein that he expected to lose Moore after the team's Super Bowl LIX win Sunday (February 9) night.

“Unfortunately, we're gonna have to wish him the very best with New Orleans," Lurie said, according to Epstein. “Very smart coach who was able to adapt our offense week to week (as) needed to win games.”

Moore, 36, a former NFL quarterback, has emerged as a rising young coach for several seasons, initially working as the Dallas Cowboys quarterback coach in 2018 before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2019. The former Boise State standout left the Cowboys to take the same position with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023 before being hired by the Eagles last offseason.
