Rubber Bands to De-Puff? Here Are TikTok Trends to Try & Not Try

By On Air With Ryan Seacrest

February 12, 2025

There are A LOT of hacks on TikTok, but you need to be careful. Some work, some don’t work, and some are downright dangerous. Sisanie breaks down which to try and which to skip:

RUBBER BANDS ON YOUR EARS

Supposedly, you can de-puff your face but just putting rubber bands over your ears for 10-30 minutes.

IS IT SAFE? It is, but it won’t do a thing.

RUBBING FRESH RAW GARLIC ON ACNE

This has evolved from eating raw garlic last year, to rubbing the garlic directly on pimples this year.

IS IT SAFE? No, this can cause irritation or even chemical burns and it will not work.

BOVINE COLOSTRUM

Moms know what colostrum is: the very first milk a female produces after a baby is born. TikTokers insist that drinking COW colostrum boosts your immune system and supports gut health and much more.

IS IT SAFE? Sure, but it does nothing and it’s cruel: baby calves need that stuff.

BORAX WATER

You know Borax? It’s used as an insecticide and in laundry products? Some wellness influencers say that adding a pinch to water can help improve arthritis, swollen urinary infections, menstrual cramps and more.

IS IT SAFE? No! It can cause headaches and vomiting and even be fatal at high doses. And it doesn’t do those things!
