Get ready to grab your tissues and your popcorn, because "Abby’s List: A Dogumentary," the heartfelt indie film that’s been stealing hearts and wagging tails, is hitting the big screen in a major way! In a rare move for AMC Theatres, which selects very few independent documentaries annually for distribution, this furry tale of love and adventure has secured a limited theatrical release in the U.S., opening May 2, 2025.

The film, which follows 14-year-old whippet Abby and her human, Mark, on a cross-country bucket-list journey, has already won best feature documentary at the Orlando Film Festival and Sunscreen Film Fest West in Los Angeles. With over 5 million views of its promo videos, and endorsements from the likes of zookeeper and conservationist Jack Hanna, "Abby’s List" is poised to charm audiences nationwide.

From doing her, ahem, business on the world’s tallest trees to making friends with a dolphin and a deer, Abby’s adventures are as whimsical as they are profound, posing the question: Is this Abby’s list or Mark’s? The answer lies in the magic of their bond, captured in stunning cinematic footage across 20 breathtaking locations.

AMC’s decision to champion this indie gem is a big deal, and Los Angeles-area fans are in for a treat with confirmed screenings at AMC Rolling Hills in the South Bay, and potentially one or two additional LA-area theaters. Presale tickets are set to launch in the next few days, and here’s where you come in: Strong presale numbers could convince AMC to expand the release to even more theaters and cities, bringing Abby’s story to an even wider audience.
