Dentist Shot & Killed By Neighbor During Dispute Over Loud Music: Police

A Wisconsin woman is facing charges after she allegedly shot her neighbor to death during a dispute about loud music.
According to PEOPLE, 27-year-old Keionna McGowan was charged with second-degree reckless homicide in connection to the fatal shooting of dentist Akintunde Bowden, 41, her neighbor.
Officers in Brown Deer initially responded on April 19 to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex.
When police arrived at the scene, McGowan yelled to authorities, “Help! He's in my house, number 207.” Bowden was found with a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.
McGowan told investigators that she was listening to music in her apartment when she heard "loud, aggressive banging" at her door. Through her door peephole, McGowan said she saw a "large man who appeared to be intoxicated." The man asked her to turn down the music, to which McGowan said she agreed and shut her door.
According to McGowan, Bowden returned and kicked her door, so she grabbed her gun and opened fire.
Bowden’s fiancée, Theresa Bell, said they lived below McGowan, and she would occasionally play music too loudly. Bell said Bowden hadn't confronted their neighbor over the music before and wasn't one to lose his temper. Previous encounters with McGowan had been "civil," Bell said.
Milwaukee Health Services, Inc., where Bowden worked as a dentist, issued a statement, sharing his impact on the patients and staff.
"Dr. Bowden’s contributions to the health and well-being of our patients and community were extremely impactful. His Leadership, Compassion, and vibrant personality will forever remain in our hearts," the company said. “Our hearts go out to Dr. Bowden’s family, friends, patients, and the many lives he impacted. MHSI joins you in mourning the loss of a remarkable servant leader and health care advocate.”
